About Us
Worthing Juniors Badminton Club is one of Sussex’s longest-running junior badminton clubs, with a proud history spanning over 60 years.
The club was originally founded by Vic Brown and later taken over by Chris and Janice Byerley, who dedicated over four decades (1979–2024) to growing and developing the club. In early 2025, they passed the torch to Emily Cotton and Harry Gilbert, who continue to uphold the club’s values and passion for junior badminton.
We welcome children aged 5–17 of all abilities — from complete beginners picking up a racket for the first time to experienced county-level players. Our aim is to provide accessible, fun, and engaging sessions that help every player improve their skills and develop a lifelong love for the sport.
For those who are keen to play competitively we have strong links to the organisers of local tournaments and keep our players in the loop with events that are taking place locally. We are also part of the local senior Brighton and Worthing badminton league and enter a team which helps provide invaluable match experience and a future pathway into senior badminton.
